Lisbon is synonymous of sun. Sun comes with sea, and sea with beach. If, like me, you always dreamed about living close to the sea, this is the right destination ! There are lot of beaches that surround Lisbon, but in this article I will advice you the best ones of course.
Portugal is a warm country, and we are fortunate that Lisbon is a port town. Nonetheless, Lisbon is directly connected to the Tage, the river that goes into the sea. You must not go swimming in it, it is really dirty. Then, if you choose Lisbon, you should clearly take this opportunity to travel. It's worth the look, because in some spots the water is so blue and so transparent that you almost forget that it is cold (around 19 degrees).
In few cases, you need to rent a car in order to reach the beach. But don't worry, you don't need to go too far away. Indeed, a train from Cais do sodre (train station) or Santos (closer to university) follows the coast until the first beaches.
